Tamworth's Town Hall Place: A Retail Hub for Independent Businesses
Tamworth's newest retail hub, Town Hall Place, is set to welcome a diverse range of independent businesses, offering affordable spaces for small firms. The seven-unit development aims to bring a vibrant and unique shopping experience to the town, with a variety of offerings that cater to different tastes and interests.
Among the first businesses to open are:
- The Tropical Market: Specializing in African and Caribbean ingredients, this food market will offer a unique shopping experience, bringing a taste of the tropics to Tamworth.
- Castle Notions: A haberdashery offering a personal service, where customers can join others in creative pursuits or get help with their projects.
- Brew Cafe: Run by Amy Collins, this cafe has been a long-held dream, offering a cozy space for coffee and healthy food and drinks.
- The Paint Pot Studio: Owned by Kate Watts, this ceramics and crafts studio provides a relaxing environment for creative activities, catering to all budgets.
These businesses are expected to open later this month or in February, marking the final stages of a multimillion-pound project that has revitalized Tamworth's town center. The project includes a new college, a revitalized town square, and the creation of a second enterprise center.
Council leader Carol Dean emphasized the importance of attracting the right businesses to Town Hall Place, stating that it's not just about filling the units but also about enhancing the town's appeal and providing new reasons for visitors to explore the area. The council continues to welcome expressions of interest for the remaining units, inviting more independent businesses to join this exciting initiative.
