Interestingly, this album won't be released under the traditional Slipknot branding. Instead, it will appear as a self-titled work from Look Outside Your Window. With only 2,300 copies available, this limited edition vinyl has an intriguing backstory—it's a side project that emerged during the sessions for Slipknot's fourth studio album, "All Hope Is Gone." The creative minds behind this venture include band members Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Sid Wilson, and Shawn "Clown" Crahan.
In a revealing statement, the band shared their thoughts on this unique endeavor: "We recognized that we were venturing down a completely different artistic path, separate from what we're known for with Slipknot, and we embraced it with enthusiasm." They named the project "Look Outside Your Window" as a nod to their experimental approach and the inspiration drawn from that period.
The band reflected on the circumstances of the album's creation, saying, "These songs came to life during a tumultuous time in our collective history. We found ourselves composing late at night in a remote farmhouse, peering through a large window and contemplating what might be lurking just outside. That feeling of mystery infused the music we created. There were no constraints; inspiration could spring from anywhere—be it delicate drum loops, snippets of organ sounds, abstract guitar feedback, or even recordings of frogs and crickets. We let our emotions and instincts guide us, allowing the sounds to lead the way."
Back in December, Clown had made an exciting announcement during a Discord Q&A session related to his Minecraft server, confirming that "Look Outside Your Window" would indeed release in 2026, after several missed deadlines in 2019, 2023, and 2024.
